SHANNON M. MILLER, ESQ., was born in Davis, California and was raised in Silver Spring, Maryland. Shannon received her B.A. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1991 and her J.D. from the University of Maryland Law School in Baltimore, Maryland. She was commissioned into the United States Marine Corps in 1992.  She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1994 and admitted to the U.S. District Court Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts in 1996.  In 2005, Shannon was certified as a Circuit Civil Mediator and Arbitrator by the Supreme Court of Florida. She is a member of: The Florida Bar, American Inns of Court, The Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar Academy of Florida Elder Lawyers, the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association, the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bench Bar Committee, Associate Independent Mediator, Arbitrator, and The Resolution Center of North Central Florida. Shannon is a frequent speaker at Hospice, the Alzheimer's Association, and Advanced Directive Seminars.  She has been certified through the National Network Network of Estate Planning Attorneys and is an active member of Wealth Counsel. Her special interests include University of Florida and Hokie Football, fly-fishing: saltwater and freshwater (she loves tarpon and cutthroat trout), kickboxing, running, traveling, and investing. Her practice areas include Mediation, Arbitration, Guardianships, Trust Administration, Probate & Trust Administration, Estate Planning, Medicaid Planning, Adoptions, Elder Law, and Medical Contract Reviews.

MONICA J. BRASINGTON, ESQ., was raised in Gainesville, Florida. She graduated from Gainesville High School in 1991, the University of Florida in 1993, and the University of Florida College of Law at Levin in 1997. After graduating from law school, Monica relocated to Atlanta, Georgia and was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1997. In Atlanta, she worked as a Commercial Litigator for King & Spalding and as a Legal Documentation Administrator for Fleet Capital Corporation.  After the birth of their son, Monica and her husband decided to return to Florida. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1999 and she worked as a Trial Court Staff Attorney for the Eighth Judicial Circuit Court.  In 2006, Monica Brasington and Shannon Miller formed a partnership, MILLER & BRASINGTON, P.L.  Monica practices in the following areas:  Guardianships, Guardian Advocacies, Advance Directives, Estate Planning, Probate, Trust Administration and Litigation, and Medicaid Planning. Monica has spoken nationally and statewide on such topics as:  Estate Planning, Guardianship, and Special Needs.
